Last month we were running PPC ads and that was costing us $800 a month and we got about 1500 clicks to our website. While that turns out be a great conversion rate, a flier promotion brought in the same amount of users to our website with a smaller budget. Does offline promotions like this work?
After a small case study, we found that our company was still managing to get a word of mouth branding, but we could not identify the source. We ran a small survey to our new users and found that they had seen us in conferences and video tapes of the conferences. We spent a few hundred dollars on pop up displays and the trade show pop up we bought lasted for 6 conferences with little or no work. We could easily move it around, spice up the colors and it was totally a great investment. I would recommend you to consider pop up trade show displays. This may not be ideal for all kinds of businesses, but very ideal for non-technology markets, for instance real estate, furniture, games. A friend of ours recently shared his success of using pop up booths for selling pool tables and we were totally amazed with it.
